Cream’s Farewell Concert

Sunday, October 19th, 2008
Cream's Farewell Concert is a well known film made in the late '60s covering the band's final gig at The Albert Hall in November of 1968. As a piece of history it can't be faulted, and Cream turn in a powerful performance. Filmed in colour the live footage is cut with interviews with Clapton, Bruce and Baker and the intelligent questions reveal interesting aspects of the band members on stage and off stage persona.   Read More

Dream Deceivers – The Story of James Vance & Judas Priest

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

The Festival Tapes 1.0: The Grateful Dead & Friends

Friday, October 17th, 2008
I first met Bob Weir at Charlie's Dalai Lama Party. I was screening some raw stock of The Festival Tapes in one of the cabins while recording various performances and events at the party. (see the Dalai Tapes) On one of my rounds through the cabin, I found Bob camped out in front of the video screen. "Did you record this?" he asked. "If we played Telluride, would you record us?" And so, the concert was scheduled. Uncle Bobo (Bill Graham) had some other ideas about the video. It was agreed that the audience was, in fact, the real show at a Dead Concert. Here the camera focus is on that experience, concluding with some extrordinary footage of the… Read More

A Film About Jimi Hendrix

Friday, October 17th, 2008
This documentary was made three years after Jimi Hendrix's untimely death. At the time it was an example of how a visual biography should be done, but some of the information in it needs revising in the light of new information uncovered over the years. The film contains concert footage spanning the Marquee in 1967 to his last UK performance at the third Isle of Wight festival in 1970; along the way we see classic performances at Monterey (1967), Woodstock (1969), Fillmore East (1969/70), and Berkeley (1970). A double album was released to tie-in with the film, containing the complete performances in the film, along with interviews with people… Read More
